The Sunshine Coast Transit System is operated under a funding agreement with BC Transit and extends from Langdale to Halfmoon Bay. The main conventional route operates from Sechelt to the Langdale Ferry Terminal directly via Highway 101 or via Roberts Creek using accessible buses with wheelchair ramps. This service is augmented by connecting local routes that operate to Halfmoon Bay, the Sechelt Arena and West Sechelt. The regional district’s share of the costs of the system is funded through transit fares and property taxes.

The transit service is operated using 8 full-size and 4 smaller buses that collectively carry about 500,000 passengers per year. Our productivity, measured in rides per hour, is one of the highest among Tier 3 BC Transit systems and was recognized by the Canadian Urban Transit Association as the sixth highest in Canada among small transit systems.
