The District of Sechelt includes the Village of Sechelt, Selma Park, Davis Bay, Wilson Creek, West Sechelt, East and West Porpoise Bay, Sandy Hook and Tuwanek. There are several residential areas located throughout the region. In addition to a large shopping and services area and waterfront walkway, the Village of Sechelt is home to several art galleries and restaurants as well as the Provincial court house. The area includes a Golf Course, a long stretch of seafront walkway beach at Davis Bay, seaplane landings at Porpoise Bay and the Airport at Wilson Creek.
The District of Sechelt is home to several community and marine parks, provincial camping parks, hiking and mountain biking trails and a heritage forest.
DIRECTOR BRUCE MILNE
Bruce Milne, Mayor of the District of Sechelt, was most recently appointed to the Board on November 1, 2017. He is serving his 3rd term as Mayor of Sechelt (1996-1999; 1999-2002, 2014-present). He has served on the SCRD Board for 6 previous years (1996-2001, 2014-15) and was first elected as Board Chair in 1998-1999.
Bruce has lived on the Sunshine Coast since 1986. His professional life includes university teaching and research (Public Policy, Public Administration and Political Theory) as well as several years as a lead Negotiator for Canada on Aboriginal Treaties in British Columbia. He has been an active volunteer in areas of social needs (Sechelt Food Bank), community (Davis Bay Community Association) and arts and culture (Sunshine Coast Arts Council).
As a Mayor, treaty negotiator and academic researcher, Bruce has been involved in many aspects of community economic development and has been recognized for leadership in the development of rural economies. He has an extensive record of public speaking on local government, treaty negotiations, environmental and economic issues.
Bruce Milne is currently serving as Chair of the SCRD Board of Directors.

Darren Inkster was appointed to the SCRD Board on June 1, 2017 and is currently serving as Vice Chair of the Infrastructure Services Committee.
