SCRD CITIZEN ADVISORY COMMITTEES

SCRD Citizen Advisory Committees contribute to the decision-making process of the SCRD by advising and providing recommendations on a broad range of matters that fall within the various Committee mandates. Committee members are appointed by the SCRD Board of Directors per guidelines set out in each Committees’ Terms of Reference. INFRASTRUCTURE SERVICES

Solid Waste Management Plan Monitoring Advisory Committee
The Solid Waste Management Plan Monitoring Advisory Committee (PMAC) monitors and advises the SCRD through the Infrastructure Services Committee on matters involving the implementation of the Sunshine Coast Solid Waste Management Plan and evaluates its effectiveness. Please refer to the PMAC Terms of Reference for further Committee information.

PLANNING AND Community DEVELOPMENT

Dakota Ridge Advisory Committee
The Dakota Ridge Advisory Committee (DRAC) advises the SCRD through the Community Services Committee on matters related to the Dakota Ridge Winter Recreation Area including visioning for future development/build-out, operational planning, and policies and guidelines for effective development and long term planning. 

Natural Resources Advisory Committee
The Natural Resources Advisory Committee (NRAC) makes recommendations to the SCRD through the Planning and Development Committee on broad Sunshine Coast resource issues which may include:

• Timber harvesting operations and forestry plans
• Environmental impact of resource activities on air, land, watersheds, lakes and the ocean or other impacts
• Economic significance of resource use decisions
• Outdoor recreation natural resource issues
• Other resource issues for the Sunshine Coast

Advisory Planning Commissions

Advisory Planning Commissions (APCs) are appointed within each SCRD Electoral Area as follows:
• Area A - Pender Harbour & Egmont APC
• Area B - Halfmoon Bay APC
• Area D - Roberts Creek APC
• Area E - Elphinstone APC
• Area F - West Howe Sound APC
APCs advise the SCRD Board on all matters referred to the APC by the Board or by the Area Director respecting land use, the preparation and adoption of a community plan, or a rural land use bylaw or a proposed bylaw or permit. More information regarding the SCRD’s APCs is available here.
